So many may know that I suffer from Schizophrenia.

I have a question regarding Adrenaline. Why does my body pump out Adrenaline at the strangest times? I can actually feel my heart pushing out the Adrenaline and then I become stressed and nervous.

I'm on a new calming agent as of two weeks ago and I just swallowed one which made me feel relaxed and better.

I've googled, but only see general Adrenaline rush information.

Any ideas?

I don't know, seems like your body just goes into fight and flight mode for no reason.

What does your doctor say?

The trigger could be psychosomatic.... but whatever it is.. you can reduce its effects by cutting down on Tyrosine (Epinephrine pathway precursor)... basically eat less/no cheese (and to a lesser extent dairy) and egg products....

Thanks for reminding me. My short term memory sucks. The doctor and nurse said it happens when I take an accelerator (coffee, caffeine etc.) Had 3 cups of coffee this morning before feeling the adrenaline rush.

Thanks, I had a blonde moment, please see above.

Easy then: remove uppers from your diet and see if it improves.

I was learning about schizophrenia in psychology. It seems that one can lead a perfectly normal life on medication... How is this going for you?

Sad. :)

It's not a great life to lead and I cry almost every day for the stupidest things on earth. When I wasn't on my meds, I was a heartless monster, so it takes some getting used to being human again.

Thanks for asking Pooky. I know of people who are Doctors and Lawyers/Attorneys that have been diagnosed with the illness, so that makes me feel slightly more normal.

Concerning being "normal". At times I am, at times I'm not. On the medication I understand more clearly when I'm not normal, which I didn't grasp at all when I was off it.

On the plus side, if you detect you're about to be mugged, a quick cup of coffee will make you invincible! ;)

I don't believe there is such a thing as normal,as every person i have ever have certain quirks that i consider a little out there but i reserve the term crazy for those who lack conscience when doing anything drastic.

I would like to share with you Tera that i had a terrible bout of manic depression, and im going for tests this Wednesday.

I suspect my thyroid is pumping too many hormones and im prepared for a Bipolar diagnosis.

The weird part is it just happened out of the blue without any substance abuse or anything, and i though it was a midlife crisis as i do not like getting older.

That being said, no matter what happens i have always been the way that i am and i always considered myself totally normal.

As for you,i hope you realize the the incredible potential that you possess and im sure before your diagnosis you considered yourself normal too(which you are).

Thinking out of the box and being innovative is a gift that yields great responsibility with these conditions as im sure you could relate to.

I found your story incredibly inspiring so keep it up!

Yeah, also learning it but in more detail. Friend is schizo, very nice guy but at times he thinks 'people' are talking 2 him. Once he stood on his roof and wanted 2 jump but luckily my other mate calmed him down.

Could you explain a few symptoms which relate to your issue and what meds are you on?
Symptoms when I'm off the medication:

Hallucinations
Broken Speech
Weird Perceptions and Thoughts
Don't look after myself (don't cut my nails, shower when I have to, sleep when I have to, clean my house etc.)
Lack of Motivation
Anger and frustration, heartlessness (general psychosis).

Symptoms when I'm on the medication:

Depression, suicidal thoughts when things don't work out as I hope for.
Anger and frustration, nervousness, tension and jumpiness. (hence the reason I'm on a calming tablet).
I'm currently using Zyprexa 10mg and Atterex (Atterix, not sure) calming tablets prescribed my doctor.

I've got a conscience when I am on the medication. I'm open hearted, I can cry and laugh and just be myself. When I'm off the meds, I'm a complete monster and I hate it.

Hope it helps a bit killa :)

I hope for the best for you. As some people said, your diet can have a huge impact on how you live and react, so I'd suggest seeing where and if your diet changed drastically as well, it might just be something that needs adjusting and things that happen in your life as well.

Firstly, no disrespect intended, but don't call your friend a schizo, it hurts. He suffers from Schizophrenia and that's all. There are some really brilliant and great people I know that have this illness, including myself.
