Anyone experiencing this today? I'm wondering if this is a very localized issue. (posting 24 July at 12:10)

Many sites won't even open and even MYBB is seriously slow on my 4mb line. Individual posts are loading as opposed to pages appearing instantly.

I'm in JHB btw.

I'm on axxess.

Yep, things are certainly running like 56k here too.

Problems seem to be in the Gauteng area.Gave the IT department hell. But all they could say was they phoned IS and cause is unknown.

My pings to telkom are all 14ms.

My pings to hotmail are between 281-284ms.

My pings to hotmail are all time outs.

Hmmm...don't know what's cutting. All I know is browsing is painful. Hopefully this comes right soon.

My IS is terribly slow. Most sites won't completely load

Even running through my proxy with pretty much 90% of content cached, IS is being slower than a snail.

Just bought an account at axxess and saw this:

System Notice
Our main backbone provider is currently in the phase of adding more bandwidth from the seacom infrastructure to the current network infrastructure, which will give much improved speeds internationally. In preparation of this, there may be some intermittent latency/connectivity issues internationally. We expect everything to be concluded by early August, after which you will be able to enjoy a much better surfing/connectivity experience. We do apologise for the inconvenience caused by this.

Well I am with SIAX, in Durban and even though I had a good night sleep, the speed when trying to browse this morning is putting me back to sleep!

This mixed service level has been going on for months now and I am so tired of all the excuses!!

I am in Cape Town and got nothing..... no yahoo....nothing google ....:sick::sick:
