Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but seeing as it's related to an ongoing ADSL issue...
My internet goes down every few months as the cable connecting to my home is strung up and often either stolen or struck by lightning - the last technician who came out said that burying the cable in a trench would solve the issue, but asked that that I take care of the digging.
Is this normal? I figured Telkom would be better equipped to doing this themselves, the trench would have to go across two driveways of neighbouring houses and I'm sure I'd need municipal permission as it goes outside of my property...
