Upgraded from 512 to 4meg.

Since then, whenever the modem has been idle for a couple of minutes, and you try to access data/surf, there is no data.

The DLS and Internet lights are still on (Dlink 2500), but I have to reset the modem, before I can surf again.

Reported this many, many times, with 1 tech coming to house when I'm at work, and another scratching his head, and down grading the line speed to 2megs.

Still the problem persists. I went and bought a new modem (DLINK) cause I thought the old PLanet modem was the problem.

I set Mailwasher to check onlime mail every minute, to try and keep the connection alive,
but when I get home again at night, internet is DEAD.

Telkom is ISP, on 3(5)gb account.

Anybody have any ideas? It is driving me stirr crazee.

Ok so you have tried 2 different routers, and both does the same?

Is the router in bridge mode ( activating the connection from windows), or
Is it permanently on via the username and password stored on the router?

If its via bridge mode, then theres a few settings on the computer itself to change, if thats not the case then I really don't know what the problem can be as it can't be the router either.
