ADSL Down in Cape Town?

Me and a couple of friends are having the same problem since Friday. Friday night no connection and then since saturday so slow that the sites time out.

Is anyone else having problems like this?
 
YES!...since Friday night Ive been getting web page timeouts and up to 20 000ms playing world of warcraft....its so bad i cant even log into Xbox Live....Ive tried changing accounts and setting...it must be a network problem....yet this morning at work in Paarden eiland I dont have a problem?:confused: wtf?
 
It appears that the problem isn't everywhere in South Africa.. just a certain area.

Our ADSL seems is fine. What area are you guys in? Maybe i can find out what the problem is and let you know. :)
 
Ok you are in the area we know about.. the problem extends up until Parrow and Belville.

Apparently there was an issue with the Milnerton Router.

Just spoke to Telkom on the phone, apparently they only found out about the issue this morning and have plans to fix it later today... so unfortunately you might have this issue for a few more hours :(
 
Na it wasn't picked up this morning only, problem aroused around friday, been intermittent since then, Bothasig DSLAM is running error's as well... might affect the surrounding area's too, Milnerton etc...

Still pending investigation.

Sorry, i didn't explain properly here.. they have known about the issue since Friday, but according to them, they only assigned someone to work on the issue today due to the weekend.:sick:
 
From the history of the 'outage' they've been busy since friday night, whole of saturday and sunday...

Bothasig, Milnerton, Century City seems to be the main affected areas, but some of exchanges have been restored.
 
Internet was down at 2 different locations in Edgemead this past weekend.

MSN would go up and down but e-mails would come but so damn slow.
I spoke to a friend later in the day and he said that the internet was mainly down but coming up and going down again.

I stay in Vredehoek and when I got home, my Inet was pumping away :)
 
HAHA! As if... I mean look, they only got someone to fix it 'because of the weekend'

How pathetic is that!

If I lived in Edgemead, I would've screamed at Telkom every single day!

My pleasure .. sorry i couldn't help more, i work for Web Africa, not Telkom so i I'm in the same boat as you guys. :p

Hope your guys speeds come us soon.

P.s : terencevs , i doubt it... i HIGHLY doubt it :D
