And Somerset Mall is always vrek busy.
There was a queue of about 10 people in the shop, but it went quick, they had 3 points fully staffed.
A much better experience IMO.

I couldn't help but resurrect this thread again. This has got to be an ongoing issue at this exchange. I'm getting terrible speeds on my line. It's not constant but for the last few hours this morning, I'm getting very slow speeds.
ISP says it's congestion on the exchange. Telkom says its not.

Haven't been syncing at more than 7Mbps (compared to my usual 10) for the past week or so... before then, massive ping spikes and horrific speeds. I have phoned Telkom's technicians and they have scheduled "emergency maintenance" for the exchange this weekend, so let's see how it is by Monday

Don't know how you getting 7, i can't even get 4 on something i am paying 10 meg prices for

Those are 855 numbers. I'm connected to the old exchange in town (851), looks like we're stuck on 4Mbps.

Having exactly the same issue in Strand. Has your issue been resolved? Mine started on the 23rd. Used to sync fine on 10mbit, then on 07/04/2015 my speed drops to 8mbit, and for the past two weeks 2mbit max

Mine been great now for the last week (touch wood).
All i did was message TelkomZA guy and he got it sorted for me, took about a week if i recall correctly.

Yeah after the third call I logged, it seems I got lucky and got a decent tech that was very helpful. He is one of the longer employed tech's at Telkom. Its sad that these guys normally get retrenched as they are normally the most efficient employees. Line sorted same day still.
Great success. Much winning.
