Internet went down at my offices around 13:30. Went home to ensure I could get work done but ADSL is down at home too. The line syncs fine but gives an authentication error on connect. Both are using different ISPs.

We are also having authentication problems on our ADSL line in Somerset West. Went home to check my line in Gordons Bay and it is also having the same problem.

Mine back up but getting slower by the second, 1.88 on a 4 meg line at present with a local ping of 28.

Also Somerset

And your point is ?

My point is that the title of the article is incorrect. The article title is "Telkom ADSL outage in Cape Town suburbs". The article then goes on to mention outages in Somerset West, Paarl, and Stellenbosch. These are towns outside of Cape Town, not suburbs of Cape Town. Paarl, for example, is further away from Cape Town than Pretoria is from Joburg.

I'm getting terrible speeds right now (Somerset West)! My line is virtually unusable. What's going on?
I'm a 4MB line with Crystal Web...

What you syncing at JJRM? Seems most of us are syncing way below our line rates. I have a 4mb line and currently syncing at 2.5mb, also having some trouble with my Afrihost account (not sure if related)

Anyone else experiencing incredibly slow adsl again in Somerset ?

Presently running at 1.2 (this has been for entire week so far) on my 4 meg line and that is with both a Telkom uncapped account and a Web Africa capped account so i think line is to blame.

Sorry for my slow response. Honestly I'm finding slower performance in general in Somerset West. Got to be exchange issues.

PS: That little Telkom branch in Somerset doesn't exist anymore, you gotta go to Somerset Mall now.
