ADSL Issues, CT North

Hi Guys

I've been struggling for a while now with bad internet lag, and it's killing me.

I live in Stellenberg in CT North, and my ping to my first hop is almost always over 800ms. (This happens to be IS)
I phoned my ISP, Afrihost, and they tried and it seems the issue is actually with my local Telkom exchange.

So I logged a call, a week ago, and guess what...surprise surprise, no answer yet.
After reading the forums a bit, it does seem that that my closest exchange is congested.

So, what do I do? I pay for a 4mb service from telkom, but I'm unable to play any games due to a 1500ms + ping.
Are there alternatives? And could Telkom do anything about it?

Help would be appreciated.

yes that area have a few congested exchanges, so you will have problems.

you have to go 3g route, or wimax.
