ADSL Issues! Important Information

Telkom is fine

250 in a 4mb isn't high either. Go post in the feedback thread for telkom in the isp section.
 
My internet hasn't worked for 2 weeks. Afrihost says my router is not connecting to the nearest Telkom Exchange. I wish they would, however stop closing all my tickets as resolved as they are not!:(
Even went onto Facebook to get someone to respond. My ref number is:11BWK101214

Apparently telkom Technician is coming out tomorrow or over the weekend... Let's wait and see....

If it's your router that's not connecting to the exchange, expect Telkom to charge you an unnecessary call-out fee. Afrihost already told you the cause of your problem, why didn't you fix it by trying a different router?
 
Telkom shuts it down as the home page gets re-directed to their "usage" page
and if i log in it tells me you have uncapped acount and we dont provide a usage service for uncapped accounts !

You say proper ISP any suggestions ?

i have been very happy as far as service and speed is concerned

just had the same problem. Thought I had wrong user name or pass!
 
My ADSL have been off now since last week Thursday after a techncian moved my line or some such. 5 days later and they haven't even sent a technician yet to take a look at the issue. Numerous calls to Telkom and no success, this is really starting to piss me off as I'm paying now for something that I can't use.

Welcome to my World.

Logged a call on the 11th June. After escalating they sent a tech from another area. He tells me that the MSAM card is faulty and has to be replaced.......And still waiting.......

Have you tried sending a PM to TelkomZA? Works wonders for me.
 
[ I have a 4mg line.
I've reported a problem with Telkom on 02 July 2015 complaining about the noise with my telephone line & no ADSL !!
I've had no response as to what the problem is - & whenever I phone 10210, the ADSL sometimes comes back on without anyone answering my call.
Whenever an operator comes on - they claim that they can only escalate the problem.
After reading this forum, I have collected the following stats/figures:-

After reading MyBroadBand newsletter Re:S/N & Attenuation/resistance

SNR*should be*at least 6dB, but preferably higher than 9 or 10dB.
Attenuation/resistance*should be*below 55dB, but*preferably lower than 45dB.


As can be seen that these figures are well below the recommendation:
I'm not sure where to go from here - as I'm not getting response from Telkom - I've even send my query to Telkom escaltion center.

Any sugestions ??
 
Constantly need to reboot my Mecer ADSL / Wifi router

Over the past few months I am experiencing regular ADSL outages on my 4Mbps Telkom ISP line. Their is 1 x PC and 1 x Laptop connected via cable to the Mecer router, and the wi-fi is only used to enable connectivity to our mobile phones & tablets

More often than not a reboot of my Mecer ADSL / WiFi router will restore my connection.

The issue has just happened again, and again a router reboot sorted it out.

Could this be related to the problems I have read on this forum about the ASSIA issues?

Or is it perhaps time to get a new ADSL/WiFi router?

If the latter, opinions & recommendations of what wi-fi router to buy would be very welcome ... I would have to buy this online, as I am far away, as in a 300 km round trip, from any major tech vendors/shops
 
Sure, having issues with Slack, TeamViewer Hootsuite etc. On Telkom fibre tried Vox as well.
