ADSL Line stats

Hmm, so my stats started dropping from yesterday.

SNR Margin : Down: 18.5 Up: 12.0 db
Line Attenuation : Down: 19.0 Up: 4.0 db

It still syncs at 4mb, and this should be able to hold a stable connection?

I'm not sure how attenuation goes from 8.5 to 19db on the same line, I thought it was related to the length of your line. Unless they moved me to another exchange.

EDIT: The line did drop sync once, but I thought anything above 15db SNR should be enough to keep the line stable. :(

sorry newb question if i download a local file and im not capped will it affect my international cap im on telscumsa.net
 
Yes it will use your "blended", or international, cap.

My SNR is up to 20.5 again, but its hovering around there. I am getting sync loss quite often now, going to have to find the problem. It might have started since I plugged in the POTS filter with my home phone yesterday. Yet the whole of last night it was perfect, now its dropping every 10-20 minutes so far.

I've just changed my modem to bridged mode and started using my wireless router to do the PPPoE, could this affect the modem in any way. Its PPP light stays off now, but that should be normal.

Good or bad for a 4Mb line? I have never had any problems synching at 4096/384 and never have any problems downloading at 400Kb/s + and uploading at 30-40Kb/s
