ADSL POTS Router & Home Network

Hi. I would appreciate it if anyone can give me some advice on the following network setup.

I have an Ethernet Marconi ADSL POTS router. My one PC (PC1) has two NIC's. I would like to connect my second PC (PC2) to the internet aswell. If I connect PC1 to the router, and PC2 to the second NIC on PC1, do I need to bridge NIC1 and NIC2 connectiont to allow PC2 to access the internet, or can I simply point PC2's gateway to the IP address of Router ?

I realise a much simple way to perform this would be to buy a hub. But I was wondering if I could accomplish this without buying extra equipment.

Bridge the NIC's if you are using XP. PC2's gateway should still point to the router IP. A crossover cable is needed for PC2.

Buy a hub, they're not that expensive and the the setup will go easily - you can connect each of the devices to the hub and then set up a pppoe connection for each pc. Anything else is going to be more troublesome to set up.

Why not just use internet connection sharing, it's the quickest and easiest way to share a connection (XP makes it even easier)

Seems like a hub is the way to go. So I need to set up a PPPoE connection for each computer in WinXP right ? Any special changes need to be made to the config of the router ? Thanks!

Apart from changing login id & pwd, nope.

If you are going to get a hub, don't set up PPPOE at all. Let the router handle everything. No need for ICS either.
