Super Slow

Well my work line has been slow ever since 1st September, but now speedtests are regularily coming in below 100...and this is supposed to be a 4 Mg line :(

Maybe Horrible-big-mess-kom will have the usual excuse for this... we'll have to wait and see what these janker wallahs have to say... :D

Internet Solutions said that the problems on their ADSL service may be related to sunspots

Is that a serious explanation? Sounds like you watching to much Star Trek! SUN SPOTS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Telkom also said that they are not aware of any network problems. < Yes true their net work is perfect!

btw Sunspots does affect sattelite transmissions, so yes JBFRobisher

All u guys with no problems, mind telling us what connections u have and which ISP u r using?

And while we at it all the ones with problems can jump on the band wagon also....

Just took 36 seconds to load this page. :(
The problem comes and goes.

4096

4096 - Durban - Axxess and WebAfrica

217.1 kbps or 26.6 kB/sec

since upgrading from 512 to 1024 and then to 4096 speed has dropped dramatically.

What can be done about it? Any ideas welcome!

Go to hardware shop.

Buy a paint brush. (A cheap make will do).

Buy some turps.

Go to ADSL modem.

Paint some turps on ADSL modem's a$$...

...and watch it goes... :p :D

We're on Megaweb 512 uncapped, and we haven't had any problems so far...

The sunspots could be true , got a email from openweb to tell me about som **** like that

IS International Link is non-existant.

International traffic impossible at this time :( ......

Sunspots only explains international problems, not local and even then should only have affect for a short period of time.

I am doing this reply from a dial-up connection. My ADSL is completely dead since 8pm tonight. The usual smoke and mirrors from telkom. Will send a techie tomorrow, wasting everybodies time, as they know very well the problem is not on site. The last big problem for me was 28/8,(24hours+) with minor non-service events ranging between 1 to 2 hours since then. Who knows how long this one will last. Everytime the connection just comes on again. Not once did they do anything at the premises. Aparently there is no-one on standby to go check in the local exchange what the problem is. The operator on the phone just said I am the 6th complaint tonight in Klerksdorp. Probably left off a zero? The line connection is actually fine, but i am not getting an IP, so can not connect to the internet. Broadband error code is 678, whatever that might mean.
