Good day,

I am currently living a complex, but there is no phone line leading into the unit.

Phone Telkom to install one and they said I need to get an electrician to install a new feed wire or install the phone line. Got in touch with an electrician and he said he can not install a new feed wire.

Then I contacted BitCo to setup their wireless solution but the area where I am living is has bad service so that was cancelled as well.

Is there another option/route I can go?

Any suggestions are welcome! I am on the verge of giving up.

Weird that he cant install new feed wire. They were able to install a new one in mine as well as replace the conduit pipe as it was broken.

As alternative I use iBurst 10MB/s Wifi, use to use Screamer Wimax.

Hi diegoa,

Are you also living in a flat? The problem in my place is that its one long conduit running under ground and we cannot identify any Telkom manholes to make the feed length shorter.

Sounds like the problem we had with our complex. Telkom said they can't install lines. This was at more than a year ago. About a week ago they told us that they're installing lines now.

Any chance you're next to a highway? :p

Close but not next to the highway, live close to the cresta mall. What did you use for internet solution?

The exchange box and everything is there but only need to get a phone line from the exchange box to my flat and the feed wire broke in the conduit, so yes fun
