ADSL problems

Just been downgraded to 2 meg line since we tried everything and internet wouldnt connect on 4 meg only 2 or lower. So the guy said he would report it to telkom to replace the copper cables, but wondering how long it would take before its fixed and when i'm back onto 4 meg line again.

The throughput of all adsl speeds are slow on speedtest than normal and slow down and speed up during test.

Also anyone else whos had similar experiences for years till they realised it might be cables?

Having a similar problem as well. Moved into my new house 12 months ago, and was able to sync at 4meg for about a month, and then continuous disconnects, at which point they had to downgrade to 2meg. After speaking to telkom for 4 months they finally admitted that there was a fault in one of their cables. 8 Months later, I am still waiting for them to attempt to repair the problem.
 
hope we both finally get sorted so frustrating not getting what our line stats can handle

mine is going on 6 or 7 years now
 
Good luck to you all.

We finally had the conformance testing guys test the cable to confirm that there is a fault and they just switched us over to another pair.

On our other line we had to pull our own cables to where the Telkom cables enter the building complex due to constant line faults.

So good luck (seriously)
 
mine lasted a month before i phoned < was on holiday overseas
mine refeused to sync at anything above 2.1meg and sometimes as low as 640k
got techie came twice and fixed it the 2nd time sofar so good
 
Hi Please let us know if telkom fixed your line!!I hope they fix it ASAP
 
they did nothing again and said fault resolved so using old router since it works under bad conditions, but cant do pppoe connections with it
 
well now they calling it network fault yet my neighbours dont experience dsl sync light resyncing or internet light going red :P starting to think they make up things to make me think they fixing it

tried both routers now and do same so know its not my hardware also wish there was somewhere to get through to their heads that they need to replace my cables

dsl was resyncing for 10 mins this morning also its alright now
