ADSL Router log-in problem

I have a beige adsl router with 4 ethernet ports and 1 usb port. No manufacturer name, but on the router is printed: ADSL Router. I have reset the router. If i type 10.0.0.2 i get the login screen. I can also ping and get the 4 responses. But I can not log-in. I have tried all the combinations I could get on this site, eg admin, root, etc, but can not get logged in to set it up. Any suggestions? Must the router be connected to my adsl line when I log-in?

Have you tried:
username=admin, blank password
username=admin, password=admin
username=admin, password=password

Those are the 3 most common combinations of passwords that usually work.

Yep, just tried again, not working. After 3rd attempt I get the Access denied screen and have to refresh.

ja, i think that was the old telkom router's default if i remember correctly

Tried them all. That is what is so frustrating and the modem doesn't have a make anywhere printed on it.

if this is an old telkom router try the username "admin" and the password "conexant". it sounds like you have one of the old marconi routers

I want to get into the adsl router to but don't know the username and password. The guy who set it up died.
What now? Should I try some of the above even though he used customised U&P?
