ADSL Speed and Coverage Map

When I applied for my ADSL, I was duly informed that I am only eligible for 2mbps service based on my address. I took it although I knew it would be painfully slow. I also have the Uncapped LTE but with my 2 bars of signal find it somewhat unreliable.

Looking at the coverage map, if I select my address it says 10mbps. If I select any of my neighbors or my "second address" (I have a double stand and also two house numbers) it also says 10mbps.

Could it be that a faster service is available for ADSL but the coverage map just has some weird bug in it? Is there anyway I could check?

Could be. I would trust their coverage map more than what they say so you may well be able to get 10mbps easily. I would check it out further with TelkomZA representative on this forum.

I have found the coverage not to be 100% accurate.

My current address states 2mbps, but I actually have a 4mbps line. Before I moved in, I was told that ADSL would not be possible by Telkom before I moved in.

Best would be to contact Telkom and maybe get someone out to come and test it.

I dont really trust their coverage map as with myself the coverage map also said 10meg and when i had the line installed the best they could do was 2meg adsl. Turns out was just to far away from the exchange. What is your line stats? that will pretty much confirm what you are able to get. My att was 54 and SNR was between 7 and 12 so that pretty much confirmed for me i wasn't going to get anything more than the 2megs i already had even tho telkom's map said this area supports 10meg

I have the same issues but the best I can get is 3.5 Mbps even though it shows 10 Mbps. I am 4.8 km away by the way the line is laid, but about 1km as crow flies.
Luckily fiber is almost in.

My ATT is 545 and SNR is 176 - presumably that's good?
