Hi , i live in Joburg and for the last 4-5 days internet has been slow , sites timeout when they load and i need to press F5 to refresh. Ping is ridiculous, getting results of 60ms + to sometimes 250ms
My download speed is strangely OK but a little under what i know it should be on the SPEEDTEST.NET site.
Such a pain because the Pingtest.net website is unavailable and only downloadable for windows 10 users as an application. The saix.net page is complete gone because you cant test the basic infrastructure .
What the hell is going on here.
I have feedback from work colleagues that their internet , especially ping, is horrible.
Streaming is terrible and 720p is barely do-able.
Unsure if this is malware-attack related.
I have reported my line to Telkom but they come back with SMS's saying service restored.
My ISPs namely Webafrica and Axxess do not have more information for me other then they will investigate the ping or tracert results.
I am just trying to understand what the heck is causing the internet to be so terrible.
Is this a basic issues lately? the the phone lines feeling cold from the weather? or is a ransomware user creeping in here?
How do u test with no saix.net or pingtest.net, those were very useful sites.
I do not know what the issue is.
