ADSL speed

Pinged www.download.com and got less than 500ms on all poing with some as low as 250ms.

Is this the start, or is it just a weekend with most power-users capped?!!![:D]

[:(]Hi there people i have no problems with a slow connection while uncapped...We never go under 45KB/S not even on Internation sites.
Now i wonder could it be the traffic at the exchange more use on a adsl exchange means... slower speeds? And thought when i do get capped i switch over to Info Sat wich will give you around 20KB/S between 8-5 since. And after 5 anything from 30KB/S to 350KB/S depending how much users are on the system since they use a pool of bandwith and do not set a dedicated bandwith to a user ..so Lol Download new years if you want to see some really cool speeds or late at night ....

(Test Server bandwidthplace.com)

Time 17.56

104.2 Kilobits per second (Via Mweb using two isdn channels )
(Test Server bandwidthplace.com)
Time 17:03

58.5 kilobits per second (Via Mweb ISDN Single channel)
(Test Server bandwidthplace.com)

I think some where there might just be something wrong .....Saix network apears to be slower.......

Something is not right if you get disconnected so often, I must admit my ADSL connection is stable enough...just a few other bits and pieces must be fixed.

I suggest you keep a record of your disconnections and phone the ADSL help line 0800 375 375, I am sure the tech will give some idea of what the problem is.

adsl tech support = monkies with flow charts

kinda useless

your speed is

32.55 kbits/sec .... LOL. [:(][:(]

Thats NOT on adsl. Thats from my work ... I'm quite surprised because I get 250k/sec from www.hardocp.com and www.download.com. For the record this is a corporate company with 4000 employees, R2.2billion/month turnover and a connection on UUNet's backbone.

*grumble*, I am uncapped, here are results from dslreports.com/speedtest (5:30pm ZA time):

2003-08-12 11:34:59 EST: 5 / -87
Your download speed : 5787 bps, or 5 kbps.
A 0.7 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : -87989 bps, or -87 kbps.
Your connection hardly qualified as broadband, at least in that test

Where can I get broadband Satellite? Is it allowed on Adsl?
