It is time again for this year’s broadband survey.

This survey gives you the chance to make your voice heard regarding the service levels and pricing from your broadband provider and ISP. You will also get a chance to tell your provider what they can do to improve their service, and vote for the Journalist of the Year and of course the Mampara of the Year. Your feedback is very valuable in helping to give accurate feedback about the state of broadband in South Africa, so please try to complete this survey.

Don’t miss the chance to have your voice heard and give direct feedback to your broadband provider about their service. Please complete this 10 minute survey:

Done. I smiled as I ticked all of the individuals in the last question.

ok so do i fill this out x times for each different provider and then x times for each package i have with them doing the speed tests ?

...how bout a poll on how many providers you have ?

currently i use these
Nexus - custom dsl
Webafrica - prepaid, unshaped both saix and verizon (on standby)
Openweb - semi fiber (on standby), 10gig vpn

yes one must have extreme measures in rsa as backup plans:

Wow - 3300/400 to New York. I'm happy!:D

My response questions were for ADSL - how do I tell them how I feel (:() about 3G?

Sorry if we're getting a bit OT but this is quite interesting. I was complaining in another thread about IS semi-shaped getting really slow in the daytime hours - they seem to have (partially) addressed that problem, but are still slow compared to what they used to be when I first took up the service.

The results of the New York test earlier today (about 08h00) showed 3300/400 while the local test showed the same speeds. I just retested New York, and got 1420/367 (still pretty good IMHO), while local is 2500/400 (that IS daily slowdown again). Compare this to SAIX shaped at the same time of testing and you get local 3300/400 and New York 663/208.

It looks like IS semi-shaped still blows the doors off SAIX for overseas connections, even when badly throttled?

My 384k SAIX shaped line gave me 308/98 to NY and 327/101 Local, a lot better than I was expecting!! :D

oh noez! I had to tick all of the last section losers!
Weird, my upload was 201 and my download was 187 to the int server.
