ADSL telkom Authentication is down 23/12

Will reboot my modem and see if that helps, tho I see no reason why that should be required. Am in Bloemfontein on a 051447 **** number ... . Nope still no Internet Service - now 30 hours without service :(

Oh well, now at 38 hours without service. Thankfully kalahari.net also send out SMS'es to alert customers that they can go collect their items at Speed Services. Otherwise the kids would be without presents for Christmas ...

Your problem cannot be linked to authentication... I've just reset my router and used my telkomsa.net ADSL account and it worked; as did my email account.

You'll have to go back to calling them...

Agreed, my affected sites (Eastern Cape) were all back up by 14:00 yesterday.

Did that 20 minutes ago, still the same answer/excuse ... :( :cry: :mad:

The ADSL light on the modem is on, IMO, that means the wire from me to the exchange is intact, just no PPP light, so some "software glitch somewhere ...

Modem is not in bridged mode ...

Well work, came back up around 14:00 yesterday, but they are on a different exchange ...

Maybe they are FINALLY upgrading my exchange to 10mb ability, and the BOFH, didn't bother to change the answer/excuse fore the day ...

I don't like being without internet, but dammit, if some one an give me a reasonable reason why it is down, and a reasonable estimate of when it will come back up, it will reduce my animoisty greatly ... , like talking to a wall ... :( :cry: :mad:
 
Happy, Happy, ... , just arrived home, and the internet is back up ... :D :)

Still going to buy myself a Cell-C "SWOOOOOSH!!! Speedstick, be buggered if I am going to sit without internet again, while Telkom "sukkels" ....
 
Been intermittent all day for me (Rondebosch East/Lansdowne/Claremont area). Phoned Telkom and they said it's a server problem, but I'm on an MWEB account. IPC maybe have something to do with it?
