Seems that i am not able to sync or upgrade on my number
In May 2012, my line was disconnected and contacted telkom to fix it. i then saw that iwas syncing at 10015 down and 1003 up.
Not bad, the sync mode was ADSL2+. Attainable rate on my DLink 2540 showed 18465 and sometimes 2000+ on the up.
however i was not able to connect to Mweb. after a long runaround, they found that i am connecting on a different tel number. nice huh? anyhow, they added the number to their system and viola connection made on my 1mb account.
in November 2012 i decide to go the stretch and test if my line can actually go 10mb and got an Axxess account. worked fine from the friday till sunday, when Afrihost and Axxess when for a ball of poo and since then i started to notice random disconnections. (could be the guy resetting the port on who's number i was connected

)
i then get Telkom to fix my port issue to reflect my correct number and i was back on 2mb no problem. i then move my line to Axxess and place the order to sync / upgrade to 10mb. 2 days later i get 4mb. wtf? i contact Axxess and they say, sorry, your exchange is congested. i move my line back to Telkom to see if they can fix it and when i wanted to upgrade my line / sync to 10mb, they say my exchange is not capable.
Some crap about you get it if you are lucky (those pathetic people at 10210)
i spoke to 5 departments for several hours and each one says, you either have to speak to ADSL or Service Activations or the Internet guys or Upgrades or Faults or... get lost.
Nojoy, so i log a complaint, 4 days later, i get a call, "is your line speed issue fixed?" , "no it is not".
2 days later a call again. "is your line speed issue fixed?" , "no it is not".
http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/llu/ shows my exchange is 10mb enabled.
I even tried to apply for a new line and a staunch lady told me, "my exchange shows 10mb, and that the guys must give me 10mb"
Service Activations said ADSL is the only department with access to upgrade or sync my line to 10mb.
my 4mb is stable and here are the stats currently.
