Hi all,

I'm one of quite a few of you who check your ADSL daily to see if you've been upgraded.

Well, if not, I am, and I have been checking.

Today, or at least, 5 minutes ago, I check and my details are as follows;

• UpStream Connection Speed: 395 kbps (Not correct)

WTF is going on :(

All the SWC traffic is congesting the network in Cape Town....

/not. Monitor throughout the footie?

What's your modem's upstream SNR and attenuation? It's probably your modem that's automatically lowering your rate because you are too far from the exchange for the rate to stay both high and stable. If your modem is syncing at ADSL2+ modulation, try switching to G.DMT (it's in your modem's administrative web page) as that might help in certain situations

DSL, upload and download has not dropped below the 512k mark since my router restarted, 3 days ago. (Also in C.T)

Yea, as frag mentioned there. Sounds like a line + modem issue .

Sync Speed as far as i understand has nothing to do with congestion , it's a physical line thing. Still syncing at 512k here anyway.

I noticed an issue at about 16:00 today. While playing online nearly everybodies pings went from 40-50 to > 150. Some guys where at 240. This lasted for a couple of minutes.

But then again the though of Neotel has made me one no to complain!

Checking as modem conf as well, in the Southern Burbs and the line speed hasn't budged
