Advice on a transfer

So I need some feedback from the hordies out there.

Currently on a low population realm, and looking to transfer to somewhere with more ppl.

Been looking alot at twilight's hammer, but am not sure about it as some replies on the official forums have been a bit negative.

So any advice/feedback you have regarding your realm on the horde side will be very welcome.
 
Really depends a lot on what exactly you're looking for.

Are you looking for a realm with SA guilds on it? If so do you want to raid or are you looking for a more casual guild etc.. Are you looking for a realm with good pvp queues etc...
 
too right, sorry about that :D

Looking for a strong raiding server with a strong population now (so I know i'll have a place to play come Cataclysm).

I want to get back to hardcore raiding basically.
 
tarenmill ensidea is on there so it will have a huge hoped population and its a pvp server
 
magtherion and twisting necter almost only have horde guilds on wowprogress, if u want over pop horde sides ,thats the servers to be.
 
after further inspection ive narrowed it down to twilights hammer or zenedar
 
they still have lag problems on twilights hammer ? Thats why a lotta SA people left that realm
 
apparently they do :/ lots of ppl posting about it on the official forums and what not.
 
Imo if you want to raid - look for a guilds on one of those realms and start applying - many guilds will at least trial out transfers if they need the class.
 
Twilight's Hammer was a pit of despair and fail when I was on it. Avoid, imo. Most of the SA peeps have moved on.
There's a thread around here someplace listing SA guilds if you're interested. If not, pick something on a good battlegroup. Being in one plagued by russians and greeks sucks.

I'm also on a not very well known server, Blade's Edge. I know there are a couple of SA players on there, but no SA guilds or anything like that.
Twilight's Hammer seemed to be the most popular, but if what Skurm says is right, it looks like it's out.
Lightbringer is also popular for SA players.

I think the site that Skurm talked about it is http://www.wowgamers.co.za/, but I don't think it has updated in a while.

Edit: Seems something broke on the wowgamers site. Can't log in or reset password. I keep getting a 403 error. You can still browse the sites though.

We moved away from TH to Chromaggus when the FCM came around a month ago. Seriously, don't go there... 25k people on one server is just not working out during peak times. Raiding 25man content is mostly impossible on wednesdays at the least with epic server lag.

When LK was released and Naxx lagged as rediculously as it did many SA guilds left, but we stuck it out believing Blizzard will fix it as they promised. A year later and it's only gotten worse when new content is available especially.

On Cataclysm's release Twilight's Hammer will certainly NOT be a good place to log in to unless Blizzard does something soon...which i wouldn't bank on and instead count as a very surprising move considering people have complained fruitlessly for 2 years on TH, maybe more.

So I decided to move to zenedar. Its a medium population realm with very good progress, and it seems to be one of the better servers. Actually quite nervous...dont feel like going from bad to bad :p

we'll see in a few hours :)
 
Battlegroups also play a big factor into this kind of decision making imo. Some of the larger groups like mine, Blackout, can suffer from some awful lag during peak times. Don't even talk about patch days it's obscene >>
 
How much do server transfers cost? I know there are FCM but that doesnt help me as Im thinking of moving from Eonar to Silvermoon.

Anyone on Silvermoon?
 
make a low level toon on the server you wanna transver first and check out the Actionhouse guilds and such 1st before you move
 
I left TH years ago when Dark Rage went bellyup. Left horde in fact :D

About 3 weeks ago decided to go back to my lvl 60 undead priest who I had moved awhile ago to Chamber of Aspects. Got to lvl 80 on Sat and have managed to upgrade gear to 3.5k gs in 2 days of flat out emblem runs. Still unguilded. Chamber of Aspects seems to be a crap realm, so Im sure I will be moving on. Not sure which battlegroup its on, but ill make sure i leave the battlegroup i think. Ill see how far I can gear up and the wait for next expansion to make a final move to start raiding with horde again.
 
After playing alliance since launch on Sylvanas, I rolled horde on TH a coupla months ago. Can't say I've noticed much lag, but then I'm not 80 there yet & have only done random 5mans. Compared to Sylvanas, it's smooth.
