Hi everyone,

I am working from home and I am considering purchasing this generator for when there is load shedding.

I want to run my 40" LED TV, DSTV decoder, android tv box, charge my laptop and my wifi router. I believe that the power output will be sufficient, however I need some advice on these concerns. I have load shedding lights separate.

Does this generator have AVR?
Will it damage my electronics?
This is relatively cheap, so is it gonna break quick, has anyone used it?
It's rated for noise at <75db, is this really loud?
Is it similar to a vacuum cleaner sound?
Will I not even be able to hear my meetings and tv even though it will be outside in my yard?
Is there a means to soften the noise?
Do i need a surge protector?
Do I need to do the whole mixture of oil and fuel or is it seperate?

I think it's worth noting that I do not plan to wire this into my house db board, rather just plug in an extension cord.

I am not going for an inverter generator since the price is a bit high.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Faizal

That will easily run your TV, decoder, tv box, laptop and wifi router. No don't think it has an AVR, it may or may not damage your electronics. I've run electronics on a smaller 950 Ryobi and a bigger 2800DC by OP as well, so far nothing is broken. The 2800DC is loud but it's not that loud just close the doors close to where the generator is running and I cannot hear it. The 950 2 stroke is louder.
Yes you'll need oil and petrol and it would be separate as it's a 4stroke not a 2stroke. Have a surge protector just in case but generally generators don't spike they dip.

Thank you very much for the assistance Mr Lupus.
I have just 1 more question.
Do you think it would be necessary to pass it through something like this?
Thanks again.

I mean I did initially, but I've not done it for awhile. Wouldn't hurt.
