Hey guys im looking at building a pc that will do well with gaming and rendering, the build i have currently put together does not have a motherboard, so i thought maybe i could ask you guys what would your recommendations for a motherboard would be as well as what you think about the build as a whole. i am trying to keep my budget between the R8000 - R10000 range.

This is what i have so far:
Radeon HD7970
i5 processor 3rd or 4th gen depending on the board
Corsair 16 GB ram (2x8GB)
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
im also not sure on a Power supply but im looking at Corsair CP-9020050-WW VS550 550W Desktop Power Supply

ill sort out the hdd and case afterwards
Thanks for taking a look:D

replace the i5 , get amd fx8320/8350pu , games runs better on these then an i5 cpu's.
Battlefield 4 loves the new fx cpu's

Try and get a bit better psu to power that hd 7970 , 550watt will run but just to be safe.

Go for corsair 650

Adding this for balance - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/battlefield-4-graphics-card-performance,3634-10.html - look into how well different cpu's do with rendering (your other use case) and then decide. From a gaming point of view, there's much of a muchness once you get into the 3k rand worth of silicon range (by that I mean, the minimum frame rates you'll see are not life-changing).

I'd look into an R9-280x instead of the 7970...the 280x is a factory-overclocked 7970 with warranty for the same price as a 7970 (the 280x is analogous to the 7970Ghz edition).
