Advice picking a new car

Dont want to be horrible but dam no self respecting man should be driving that car like that unless its an emergency etc , no matter what the performance or lack of.Immediate man card revoked :D

I think it's more folks that have inner doubts about their own masculinity, that make ****ty comments like that on someones new purchase ;)

In all fairness, I know people that had to do brakes and clutches in the first 15k km. One of those vehicles was a brand new Kia rio(clutch). The other a Suzuki swift(brakes). These things are not supposed to happen on new cars......but sometimes they do. I think this is what the OP is scared of and I think it is valid.

Maintenance plans should be seen as insurance. It is not for "when" but "what if"!

Then they should be covered by warranty.

I have to agree.

Similar to people's comments on the MX-5 being a "hairdressers car"...what the fudge is a hairdressers car

Guessing cost, but then depreciation is also killer.

That's fine as long as you got the latest one otherwise you are looking at monstrous depreciation.

More so than the usual buying new.

The only reason that I went new was that the car was only launched here a month ago, so no demos or 2nd hands

It's been ordered, waiting for delivery from East London. Looks like she'll be here early next week latest - but then I'm on holiday in Durban so patient I'll have to be. But I'm pushing them so perhaps I'll get lucky :)
