Oooops, my bad. Before they stopped production of 939s they must've slipped in a couple of mobos that supported PCIe.

That's it I think, since I've heard of a few, the one here is a Gigabyte something
Anyways, have a look at the Telkom Laptop specials that's running, it's on contract if I'm not mistaken, it's Toshiba and I've got last year October's one. I can't complain about it, I got it for free from my mom, she's getting hers next month.

as far as I can remember Skt 939 did not have PCIe support [could be wrong]

Incorrect, my previous system (Socket 939 based) had an NVIDIA 7900GT PCI-E card

Cool, thanks man although I doubt I'm gonna be going the laptop route, I prefer nice beefy desktop.

I think I'm gonna shell out on a quad-core and 4GB RAM since AMD doesn't seem to have the edge over Intels right now when it comes to best-bang-for-your-buck processors.

Cool man Then there's really no reason not to get a cool graphics card or Vista. There's a few games which rock on Vista like Halo2 and older games such as Soldier of Fortune (hint hint)
