aerial for Digital TV (DVB-T) receiver

Hi

I have one of these

and was hoping to fiddle around with it a bit. Im not sure if there IS signal in CAPE TOWN from either the Tygerburg or Constantiaburg towers????

Also, where/what kind of aerial do I need?

Is that card even compatible with DTT broadcasts in SA? It says it is for the UK's freeview service and records mpeg 2 but unlike freeview our system uses mpeg4.

oh dear... Guess I wont be using it then!

Its fine I bought it to watch DSTV on my PC anyway... not DTV OTA.... Just thought it would be nice if it DID work

DVB/T works with normal TV aerials, same spectrum. Of course coverage issues may require upgraded installs but in general the existing kit will pick it up.

You will need an MPEG4 decoder for South Africa though as mentioned.

Yip, same uhf "braai grid" type antenna will do.

No, my TV pics up zip DVB in Cape Town except for what appear to be encrypted DSTV channels - I assume for the mobile / cell phone TV channels.
