Aerosat...more like Aerogarbage

Hi guys things really happened fast this morning. I was contacted yesterday by Ryan the technical director at Aerosat.

After speaking to him over the phone I got the impression that maybe I over reacted when creating this thread and didn't really give the company a fair chance.

Ryan scheduled a reinstall for 09:00 this morning and what do you know at excactly nine an Aerosat vehicle pulled into my drive way.

The technician Chris reinstalled all equipment including the wiring and after going online I could immediatly see that things were like it should be. Browsing is fast, downloads doesn't disconnect and almost no packet loss.

Ryan actually turned up at my house to check if everything was installed as it should be and that Im happy. This says alot to me about what this company is about.

So I wont be ripping the equipment of my roof or ending my contract at the end of June after all:D

yea well done. but why could this not have been done the first time round?
I have already warned a few friends in pe about staying away from Aerosat because of this thread.

Funny how the customers only get quality service after they have to resort to posting negative topics about aerosat .... I know, i have had to do the same a few times already....

I just cancelled my aerosat account myself after 3 years of HELL. for more than a year i could not play Starwars galaxies, and still on aerosat it is not working, even after i threatened to leave and even after i made good on my promise. I am not at all sorry that i left aerosat.

I signed up with Iburst last week and i am much happier now, speed is 4 times better, latency in wow is about the same, but my Starwars is working !!!! , not only that but a friend who used aerosat has also signed up with me, so there goes another aerosat user, i am pretty sure i can convince some others as well :)

Also few things about aerosat that pissed me off :

1. Downloads time out constantly ( impossible to download 50 - 100mb without a manager. )
2. Uploading is a nightmare.
3. Online gaming can be hell.
4. SERVICE SUX and no after hours support, they never answer after 10 - 11pm
5. Quite a few websites give cache/proxy errors.

all these things work with iburst, downloading / uploading is a pleasure (downloading at 110kbps and uploading at 30kbps ), service seems good so far, gaming is good, and 24 hour support is a huge PLUS !!

So to all the Port Elizabeth people, don't get aerosat, you will only get burned, rather go for iburst, they are far supperior and quality is top notch not to mention they are cheaper in the long run.

take this from a LONG time aerosat user...

Personally I'd be jumping for joy if aerosat was available in my part of PE. It isnt, nor is iTrickle nor 3G so I'm stuck with little choice but to use ADSL.

A friend of mine has something similar, don't know if its the same company, downloads are impossible for him. The say uncapped, but whats the point if you cant download anything more than 20mb?

Well the only way you will be able to download files bigger than 10mb's is with a download manager.

Yes you have to use download managers with aerosat or else you are buggered, the problem is that not all sites support managers in which case you are buggered.

Another thing i noticed today.

with aerosat when i register somewhere my confirmation email takes forever to arrive, most of the time i only get it the next morning....

With Iburst it is almost instant. the moment i leave the website and click email it is there, i have tested it 3 times with same results from 3 different sites.

Things are just so much simpler with iburst, it has been such a pleasure this last week to come home and just click and everything just works.... no frustrations, no swearing or going to bed in a bad mood :)

I really recommend Iburst to anyone looking for broadband, and also keep in mind that Iburst signed a deal with vodocom to use their towers, in which case iburst will be going nation wide overnight :)

I read in another complaint on Myadsl Aerosat actually uses ADSL lines in their offices I wonder if thats true?

Due to the ridiculously crap speeds and unreliability of WISPS, they use ADSL to conduct their business, and most wisps are merely reselling ADSL access (illegally).

1 x Omni directional antenna
1 x Wireless AP
1 x Telkom 4MB adsl line (Wisps must get their internet from somewhere  )

Thats wisps for you.

nice but iBurst's data usage is insane for the price

People living in PE please dont fall for this company's cheap advertising promissing internet connectivity for a fraction of the price of Telkom. They will rip you off and you will only lose your hard earned money. If you feel like wasting money rather throw it out of the window or donate it to the poor. If you sign up with these jokers you will only end up feeling done in and with a bitter taste in your mouth.

Lets take a look at what you get for the R1500 installation fee and R300 every month with the least expensive package. A 64k wireless connection with unlimited bandwidth usage. What a joke. At the best of times you can download at 7k\bytes before getting disconnected every 10 or so minutes or the connection will freeze and you have to reconnect.

You lease the equipment from Aerosat and they do no refunds on the R1500 installation fee even if you are unhappy with the service a week later.

Now lets take a look what you do get for your money:

1)Slow to no web browsing, getting non existent during peak hours
2)Constant disconnections
3)Huge packet loss
4)No support from their support drones
5)Network outages without any notification especially over weekends
6)Call out fee of R200 if you dare let a technician come out to your house.
7)Sloppy installation
8)Equipment being installed wrong by unqualified technicians
9)Failure of emails being send

If this is what you want from your internet connection go ahead ,but if you actually want to do the most simplest of tasks like surfing the web forget about it. Aerosat wiill take your R1500 installation fee and milk you for a couple of month's untill you get so fed up with the lack of service you cancell. They will then come and deinstall the equipment from your roof and rip off some other unsuspecting client with the same equipment.

Aerosat I see a bleak future ahead for your company if you keep on ripping off the PE community that support your "mickey mouse" company. Telkom's packages are getting better so you wont be able to hide behind the "At least we have no nasty cap excuse you have been using" for much longer.

Here's hoping your company go down soon and your CEO and other "fat cat" directors have to take back their BMW's to the dealership.

Now come deinstall your crappy equipment before I rip it off my roof and throw it through your spanking new offices glass window.

Oh yeah, and they really rate well on Hello Peter

If you are looking for broadband internet service in the Eastern-Cape DO NOT use these guys. First of all they rip you off for the installation R1500, then you cannot even do a simple thing as browse the internet, if you speak to the *** at the help desk all they can say is "Please reboot your equipment". If they do come out they either replace your equipment or point you to another tower, this will work for a month or so then the problems will reoccur.

This is the modes operandi of this supplier, and I will suggest to anyone not to use this supplier, also when you cancel your contract they will take your equipment and your R1500 installation fee as well.

WISPS = ripoffs

Even dialup on a old rusty telephone line is better than aerosat. you get what you pay for.
Aerosat is cheap for a reason and i highly advise anyone to stay far away from them. I know alot of Aerosat users who have switched to iburst and iv'e given alot of the "i told you so" speeches. seriously, they truely are a waste of money.

Aerosat se patetiese diens.

Goeie More Forum Lede,
Miskien kan Icasa my nou help as een van julle asb weet by wie ek kan gaan hulp aanklop oor my probleem laat weet my asb. Die enigste ding wat vinnig werk met die internet is soms my epos. Van aflaai is daar nie sprake nie. Hulp sal waardeer word.
Michelle
