So hows Bafanas chances?
I hope they make the semis!

Right now I know nothing about the teams or anything. Are they capable of taking the trophy this year?

Last time the Springboks to the WC, Bafana won the AFCON trophy... :p

I honestly believe BB is the weakest team on this competition.

They beat Golden arrows 1-0 last 2 weeks. U tell me.
I used to love this team, but my health is very important :D

Mark my words. Pereira will say, "We were using the Afcon to build for 2010"
Our boys just don't have what it takes.

Lol @ Pereira!

The other teams have some powerful players in their sides, we dont.:(

Do you think we gonna do as bad as we did in the last competition?

Just look at this list:

Ghana
Guinea
Morocco
Namibia

Nigeria
Benin
Mali
Ivory Coast

Cameroon
Egypt
Sudan
Zambia

Angola
Senegal
South Africa
Tunisia

The only countries we can (MAYBE) beat are the ones in Bold and they are not in our group.

Agh shame man!! Is that our group??? Yoh!!

So its a a big ask to even make it to the 2nd round!!

well i dont give a crap how we play, i just hope we do well

im south african and will support them ever though they suck

a true supporter supports their team to the end

I used to be true supporter, but I lost a tremendous amount of weight coz of that.
So if u r over weight, then support BB. I'm size 28, so i can't afford to lose any kilos.

bwhahaha i used to a size 28 till i found beer haha

ya well we need them to do well so benni will come back :)

do people really give a crap about AFCON? i don't bother with local soccer.

I guess it depends on what type of football u prefer. I don't remember watching Euro myself - coz I don't have a DSTV :D

I wouldn't mind watching Drogba, Eto, Essien, Kanoute, Muntari, Dioup, Kalou, Kanu, Martins, Toure,..........and of course our beloved Phil Masinga ( or it's not 1996, is it?)

I couldn't care less about this tournament especially with it being held in the middle of the real football season. Might have watched it if it was in June but now I will rather be watching serie a,la liga and epl.

That is true. Our group does not look easy at all. Lose to Tunisia, draw with Senegal and maybe beat Angola. Four points might get us through...

Yes as he proved against Manure:D

alan even the best players in the world have made mistake's

dont harp on one mistake

the best defenders in the world have made blunders
the best midfielders
even the best strikers :)

everyone has their off day i say

You call that a 'mistake'. I call it money in the bank

So I guess he isn't that bad :D

I don't give a crap about overseas leagues but I still watch when I'm bored...:D btw, what's your definition of local ?

I was just thinking about starting an AFCON thread and boy was I suprised when I saw there's one already and it has made it to the 2nd page!!!

Bafana Bafana will do better than last time...they are better organised in defence and midfield (with Aaron Mokoena playing holding role) and we have a match winner in Sibusiso Zuma. Pienaar should also do very well on the right with Bryce Moon...I am a bit concerned about Simphiwe Tshabalala on the left flank...he seems to be lost a bit, maybe they should field Lerato Chabangu in that role...another concern is Surprise Moriri who is a shadow if the player he was a year ago. He should sit on the bench and give Terror Fanteni a chance in the starting line-up...

My predictions...we will beat Angola...draw with Tunisia and Senegal go through and maybe we get an easy draw and we are in the semis...
