Gibbs was wrong in swearing but he was not being racist. He got punished and it was accepted. Pak cricket association lodged a complaint because they are sensitive. Lucky the SA guys are ok and they can take ****...

The Pakistan team made the complaint simply to not have Gibbs play against them. You will notice the ICC almost always rules in favour of any team not from SA :/

Not confirmed.

The spectator could have been a 1m away, who knows, should he get a ban for that?

Well JK8, i'm not sure if you've actually seen the footage of the incident or not. But I watched the replay of it on Monday night on supersport and you can clearly see how close it was. So much so that the guy had to jump back to avoid being hit.

I accept that no-one got hurt, but does that make it right? If i aim a gun at you and shoot but miss, is that okay? Nobody got hurt!

The ICC should be shot for not taking action against him. In fact i think that Graeham and the rest of the SA players should complain about this.

My opinion anyways.

I think you are wrong here, you don't have to actually make contact, the gesture is bad enough. Wheather there was intent was another story, if the guy took evasive action there was probably intent and you could probably if you wanted lay charges for attempted assault or even assault (i stand corrected, I am by no means a lawyer)

I agree, Whether he hit the guy or not it is disgraceful behaviour.
 
But...

Media spokesperson for Cricket SA Gordon Templeton tried to play down the incident. He said one of Afridi's gloves had fallen to the ground as he was climbing the steps.

He pointed his bat towards the spectator as he bent down to pick up the glove.

Why would he say this?

The difference is that SA aren't whiney sissies.

<sarcasm> We don't lodge complaints to get players banned because we're scared to play against them.</sarcasm>

I knew the ICC was a political fake when it refused to sanction Zimbabwe... they were so quick to sanction South Africa during Apartheid, but apparently its okay if you are Robert Mugabe.

The ICC is an inconsistent fake.
 
The ICC code of conduct states somewhere (not exactly sure, have not read it recently) that threatening a umpire, player, official or spectator bla bla something bla bla is a level 3 offense.

And I reckon that bat swing was pretty threatening.

Problem is now that the SA team management or CSA only had 18 hours after the incident to lay a charge, the did not, so the only person who can do anything now is Malcolm Speed.

Lesson learnt for the day: If it's a SA player that contravenes a law, ban him. Make him look bad. If he's anyone else, let it go.

It's sad the ICC needs people to pressurize them to take action. i mean come on here's a good example. Two Pak players take drugs. They were found guilty because they refused to give in their B samples. Well now they are still playing cricket. That's just hypocritical.

I don't think saying that no one got hit then it's ok. It's like me saying I shoot someone to kill but I miss, I can be off the hook. It doesn't work like that. Everybody accepted Gibbs' punishment and we move on. Afridi should be punished regardless.

Gibbs got caught by a stump mic on live TV, the people in Pakistan started complaning before any investigation even started.

I think Afridi should get away with it.

Currently it's Commit offense -> Complaint -> Investigation -> Decision.

Should be Commit offense -> Investigation -> Decision
