Posting here first before I log a ticket.

As of this morning I am unable to browse with my Afrihost account.

I am not capped as clientzone reflects 2.9 odd gigs available for the month of November.


Anyone else with a similar problem?
Any suggestions welcome.
 
try turning your router on and off or something.. sorry if I didn't help =\

same with me ... Unless that if i go to any site it throws up the im capped screen ...
Shows 9.960 gigs free (although ill ask where the 40meg went seeing im capped so to speak)
 
well i know i've overused. at least it was not that much :D
 
There was some outage during the night and this morning effecting a few ISP's

Not sure where the problem was.

That is is strange.

My router is set on WA (I've got a gig to use up:D) so I've not accessed my Afrihost account at all this month. Yet, when I check usage, 20mb is missing. Don't get me wrong, 20mb at those prices is nothing BUT it disturbs me that their system is taking Mb away without me logging on. How much will it be next time? It sort of erodes your confidence in the integrity of their billing system.:(

BTW - I wasn't capped - I had about 170Mb left over yesterday.

thats interesting ... check your daily usage and see what that says ... it said 5.6meg ... so where does the 40meg come from?

I had the same problem earlier this week. The feedback from Afrihost was that they could find no problem on their side or on my account. The situation was rectified before I received the response from Afrihost and without restarting or rebooting anything.

I went the easy route.
I blamed Telkomsa:D

I have a 4mbs connection and the d/l was complete before midnight. I suppose at R29 /gig it's not REALLY worth complaining about.
 
This seems to be quite a common problem. I haven't used my Afrihost account today since currently using another one, haven't even specified Afrihost account details on the router however my usage is 20.57MB. At the per gig price, this doesn't work out at a lot but would be great for a representative to explain on this forum what's happening with our data that we paid for. Maybe it has something to do with the apparent over usage problem that some people are experiencing however clarification from the ISP would be appreciated.

The CEO did explain in a post somewhere on this forum that the figures that you see might not always be accurate, because some other firm does the bandwidth stats and Afrihost only gets updated every few hours and so when you check your data it might be outdated, especially on that 4Mbps line.

... so fair at R29/gig its cheap ... but does that make it right that we must accept the mysterious disappearance of bandwidth from peoples accounts, even if it is just 40megs????

i am paying R29/gig and i expect to get my 1 gig ... not 960megs ....

even if it was R1/gig or R2500/gig ... i paid for and expect to get what i paid for

Analogy: pizza hut had a special for a large pizza and a 500ml coke at R29 ... would you complain if you got a 340ml coke instead ... hell yes i would ... even though i know i wont get a 340ml coke and a pizza at R29 anywhere else

Look in the end i just need an explanation for why the 40 meg in the beginning of the month got taken off my account, when my daily graph usage showed 5.7meg, yet my summary view showed 40meg odd used !? ...is it because i used 40meg over my limit last month? if this is the case ensure that if i don't use bandwidth carry it over to the next month then as well ... reciprocate the over usage with under usage ...

I also have missing data this morning.

I know I used around 300MB this morning yet the summary in the Client Zone states 1.09GB which is a difference of about 700MB simular to the descrepancy Dabbler has.

Yet if I go to the daily usage graphs in the Client Zone it says around 380MB for today which is closer to the truth. So Afrihost's own stats don't agree with each other.

I run Netmonitor and it seems to agree with last months usage and Afrihosts daily usage graphs so it is very unlikely that I went over my cap.

I've logged a ticket so I'll hear what they have to say.
 
I have a similar problem, I have been using my WA account and had not used my Afrihost account had 1.5 gigs available, this morning I had 400 meg less on my 10 Giig account..

Something defo not right at afrihost!!
 
they say i've used up 1.3 gigs today, not in a year have i used up all that, i was hardly on the net, hows that possible
 
has anyone gotten a response on this .... it is 24hr support

Just the automated reply e-mail promising to get back to me. That was around 10:20am, but it is a sunday I suppose. I'll give them till tomorrow and then I'm calling them up.
