Afrihost ADSL proof of concept network testing

registered although its not really open for public testing yet :(

So basically the MTN backbone has gone to ****(shock! horror!), they can't say that obviously cos MTN will get pissy and now have to send the data through other backbones to manage the load.

Yeah Afrihost, bright ****ing plan selling out to MTN, working out real well... What the hell did you expect from a bloated/inefficient and useless company?

Whatever they are doing it aint working; the network is actualy worse now; low latency with packet loss....

Its sad to see that so many dupes out there are falling for what is clearly just a publicity stunt and stalling tactic.

Someone thought that if they create this thread

There would have been a rock star home coming. What is telling is that after no hero reception was given, the presence and responses became less and less. Now there simply is nothing, but the staff writer is still good enough to pass along the word of the keiser sonder klere.

It is always better in your castle than to be out and about in the real world.

Yesterday a true hero; today nothing more than a contender for that no1 spot openweb has taken up...

Morning everyone

Just want to post a quick note to say please don't make too much out of this snippet of info. Our real intention was always for people to know as little about the back end so as not to cloud their perception before even trying the network. We really want clients to experience the network, smash it, do their thing and then tell us which they'd prefer going forward. I think most would agree that if the network passes the user test, it won't matter which provider we use, as long as you dig the experience and you trust as to manage all the players in the background to keep your experience consistent.

We'll probably be able to give a full rundown of the who's and what's when the final network is decided on and we're moving full steam in that direction.

I'm with Afrihost and although I want to be loyal to them for what they have done in the past the situation has now become unsustainable.

Last night I downloaded the new GTX drivers, and while my line syncs at 2Mbps, the download speed kept fluctuating between 1.2mbps (occasionally) and 70Kbps. I use IDM and usually these downloads are fairly fast even on 2Mbps, but last night it was taking forever. This is on a Business uncapped account!

They will have to do something VERY soon or start haemorrhaging customers - myself included...

Well advertorials are a waste of money unless they work so good luck.
