The latency looks OK here, your throughput for the line speed definitely leaves more to be desired though :(

Somehow AfriMan I doubt it is congestion.

Here are some traces done on AXXESS and AFRIHOST.
You will notice from these that the problem is definitely Afrihost and NOT the MTN network.

Axxess uses the exact same routing and IP addresses as Afrihost, but Axxess works, and Afrihost does not. This proves that something is not right with the AH management software. Might also explain the countless problems I have with ClientZone, and why I haven't been able to use half the features in there for months.

Look at how smooth and even each hop is on Axxess, and then the exact same IP/hop on Afrihost. This proves that the congestion is NOT at any of our exchanges, but rather on Afrhost's side.

Has there been a reply to this? I have looked through all the posts but cannot find anything. The explanation for this would be most interesting!

I believe you'll have some feedback around this soon, our team are making changes where they can and there has already been some improvement. I think we can expect more improvement as they continue to work on this.

Lets hope so, so far all I have been getting from Afrihost is soon it will be fixed, soon has been far too long with absolutely no resolution.

The above results are much better, not great that you're seeing such a difference when using our accounts :(
I do believe that our team are working on some improvements though.

How would we know when the improvements are done?
The timeline for these apparent improvements?
Why is there no alert stating that they will be a slowdown on the network for whatever reason?

I get the feeling that transparency of the issue is not available especially as you [AfriHost] were ISP of 2014 when the network lacks its promise of unshaped bandwidth, you state we are not being shaped yet there is no congestion or anything please explain.

Our Business accounts aren't shaped, ever.
Since the network upgrades we've seen much better performance across the board - however we're narrowing down a few queries relating to slow speeds.

Again, this affects a very small portion of our client base and isn't a widespread problem.

I doubt this will happen, I think there are other issues at play here and things are not 100%, this has only got worse since the MTN takeover. So called upgrades, speeds get worse, more upgrades, speeds still way below what they are supposed to be, all we here is soon, soon, soon. How can Axxess who are using the same network not have thee issues? (tests posted earlier in this thread). Someone has not flipped a switch, probably to save costs.

I think there's a lot of speculation in your post here, none of which is true.
The upgrades definitely did happen - and having the MTN acquisition confirmed last week is entirely irrelevant to what's happening and being discussed in this thread.

Again, we're working on a few options to see speeds to those affected return to normal.

South Africans by nature seem reluctant to complain about poor service, so I would not take this forum as an indication of customer satisfaction or unhappiness. The lack of communication I think is the biggest problem most of us have, we get bog standard responses, and that's where it ends. We cannot escalate our complains higher so its round and round we go. We test, they say soon.

It seems the client base has grown smaller due to frustrated businesses and users leaving.

You say we are not being shaped, then perhaps are we then being pooled into a higher contention ratio which is causing this issue.

Users on this forum have been having this issue since the IOS 8 update, how by now after well over a month we still having issues that have not being resolved, I've kept quiet over the past to was and see the outcome but nothing has changed, speed fluctuates dramatically on an unshaped prioritised ADSL package?

Feedback we receive here is vital, I think we've said this before :)
I'll gladly escalate your query further, but I promise you, you'll get the same answer that we're telling you on here. I think anyone is quick to question slow internet - I know slow interwebz annoy me to no end.

Would you like me to get your query escalated and a few more things discussed via mail/ phone?

We haven't seen any trends indicating this - we have a lot of happy clients. Nothing weird is going on with our network management, no one is being pushed into provision data pools. We want everyone to have the best possible experience and this is what we're working towards.

How can I assist Afrihost with resolving this issue, with the current issue I am having?

First things first, we need to look at some test results.
From there, we can gather info on a possible trend and take it from there. Have you been in touch with our Support team?

Currently busy with them in parallel, done Tracerts - same result as here, currently posting WA comparisons.

Thanks, always a good place to start. Lets see how things go, I'll happily escalate the ticket wherever possible.

I would have thought this would happen? Why should I have to ask to get my issues escalated, this has been going on for far too long.

I know the query is there, what I'm offering here is to have a direct line of communication with someone who can talk you through absolutely everything.

Its not speed thats the problem with my line, the freaking ping is so bad.

I know the query is there, what I'm offering here is to have a direct line of communication with someone who can talk you through absolutely everything.

What I need is my speed fixed, if this means I have to talk to someone so be it. I don't want someone asking for more tests, I have submitted what I was told to do, now its up to Afrihost to pull the finger out.
