I'm seeing some browsing improvements, but international is still a little wonky. I'm happy about Youtube finally routing to the local servers now, though.

YouTube I can stream 4K without issue now. That's a change from yesterday's 244p maximum.
So, thanks AH.

North region - anyone else's speed take a huge dip since about an hour ago? I am aware of the IPC issue, but my speeds have been fairly good all day until about 9 pm.

Anyone from AH still around?

There may have been some dips in performance as Telkom was doing their thing on the IPC, how is your performance at the moment?

Any issues in the East?

I know that Telkom are putting fibre lines in Jan and expect some issues then.

Son reckons the line is cr@p this morning - has called AH this morning .....

Things look quite okay in the East at the moment, there was a momentary spike in demand around 09h00 before the shaping for Uncapped users kicked in, but that was less than a few minutes and performance should not really have been affected noticeably.

My power tends to trip quite a bit here, because of our faulty electrical appliances. When our router reconnects, Afrihost takes quite long to verify the username and password and resolve the connection in comparison to other DSL packages that I have used in the past (~3x longer). Is it possible to increase the speed at which it connects?
Thanks :)

Curious...

There should definitely not be any delay with the authentication process at the moment.

I have reset your account itself, when you get a chance, can you please test the connection again and see if there is any improvement.

Aight, cool. Thanks I'll try it out in an hour or so :)

Could this not be an issue with concurrent connections? The router may be disconnected, but AH may still think you care connected until the port is reset. I had this issue with a different ISP. They ended up giving me concurrent connections, but locked to my telephone number

I don't think so, our system picks up the disconnection, and closes the session, there is then a 3 to 5 minute gap before re-authentication, if it happens again I will need to test to see if there is a delay with the radius server, or possible with the modem.
