A saturated line normally has high latency to the exchange. Similar to when you use Dropbox - my home line shoots up to 1500ms on the 2nd hop when I use Dropbox for uploading a lot of content.

It's strange though because I've never had this kind of problem before.

Here's speed test and tracert I did with torrent still running. Latency on speed test seems fine. Download speed is down a bit but that's because torrent is still running. Not sure what to make of the tracert.

Yeah the traceroute isn't looking too bad actually. I'm sure it's the torrent though. If you pause the torrent do things go back to normal?

Yeah things do go seem better once I stop the torrent but I think it was probably my torrent downloading in conjunction with antivirus doing a full scan (which I didn't realise until now). That's causes some of the slowness.

I'll keep an eye on it and see what affects what.

I can have a fault logged for you, but chances are Telkom will close it citing "scheduled upgrades, no ETR" or something along those lines.

What line sync are you on at the moment?

Currently at 4mb. Stats aren't the greatest but they aren't bad either.

Latency is terrible in general on the MTN network, I wish Afrihost would just acknowledge the problem and fix it, every other ISP I use it perfect....

Not cool to hear about the increased latencies, I have asked our Team to look into this ASAP.
