Hhhm, not sure why the 2nd hop is doing that :( Doesn't your exchange normally reject ICMP?

I know we're seeing some issues with packet loss at the moment, not sure if you're being affected by that.
Are there results replicated on another ISP?

Not sure ..... not inclined to do a whole bunch of tests ATM .....

will give it some time and see what happens.

@Afriguy, at this point, is there any point in staying with Afrihost Business instead of switching to something like https://www.voxtelecom.co.za/promo-fatpipe-100gb ?

I'm asking genuinely, not trolling.
We use about 400GB per month. That would cost R656 on that Vox special, but costs me R997 on Afrihost.
So for people in my position, is there really any incentive to hold on until this new network of yours kicks in (assuming it will even help)?

(I was going to take a screenshot of a twitch stream to show you how bad it usually is, but I can't even load the site, meh)

I think that's really up to you, I don't think I'm in a position to tell you to stay or otherwise :(
What I can say, is that there's a stack of work being done in behind the scenes here, so improvements are definitely on the way, it's just a question of when.

Thanks guys for putting the network status back to amber :)

Puts your integrity back into the green with me! ( It was amber before :P )

We're trying really hard to.
Hopefully at the end of this you'll a rainbow of happiness. If that's even a thing? Haha :p

Fingers crossed. I've stuck around through the good and the bad. So far there's been more good than bad, so I can't be too rough on you guys :)

Really glad to hear it dude! I think we can only go from strength to strength from here :D

The problem with the cheaper bandwidth and low barriers to signing up is that it will attract more high usage customers in the short term. This could lead to quality of service degradation as capacity in that service becomes limited ahead of the required upgrades. Right now the jury is out; the whole ISP landscape seems unstable with Afrihost about to launch their POC (affecting some other ISP backbone) and e.g. VOX slashing capped prices by 50%. IMHO wait until the dust settles if you have the patience, before signing any long term contracts. The next few weeks will be very interesting...

Over the past year has been more bad than good but want to stick through it and hopefully get the speeds that we're meant to.

Then I think it's best we deal with the ISPA/ CPA complaint accordingly. We'll follow that process and revert with feedback.

Real nice how you deal with customers. Your network is in a shocking state and your customers deserve compensation. Yet when they not happy you basically say cool carry on with the legal process. Disgusting!!!!
