Last weekend we pushed through an update to our Network Management Software, the update was intended to correct a few problems, but it created a bug whereby many of our users were not receiving the correct bandwidth throughput on their accounts.
Our Team had made progress towards resolving this, and there have been improvements, but there does still appear to be some regions experiencing throughput problems.
So is it, or isn't solved?
The Management Software should be operating as intended, and all users should be receiving the correct bandwidth allocation.
If anyone is not, can I ask that they please send me a PM with their ADSL username, speedtest result and a traceroute to Afrihost.com
Our Team will need to look at where the bandwidth shortfall is occurring.
Hi!
I just wanted to check with you, is your modem still pulling 196.43.46.190 and 196.43.42.190 as the default DNS Servers?
No because its not on auto, ive forced it to use the AH DNS settings, but i can put it back on auto if you want.
Odd how over the weekend the speeds seem to finally get better, odd thing is speedtest still shows crap, but downloading seems to be fine. Was having issues streaming again though (which seems to be a serious issues on the AH network). I was using the AH DNS, streaming was crap. Changed my router to rather use the OpenDNS dns, and streaming was almost perfect?
Manual is fine, just strange that the modem is defaulting to the Telkom DNS. Is it perhaps a Telkom-branded modem?

Really?! That is very curious... And your streaming performance is consistently better with the OpenDNS?
Yes, I could watch the rugby, cricket etc with very few issues. With AH DNS, its a real mess.
