I'm not technical enough to confirm what/ how/ causes the IPSec VPN stuff - if it's mentioned in the Critical Care ticket it'll be handled as such though :)
We did see DNS issues which caused some issues late last week. I'll follow up with the team - but please keep an open line of communication with them - they're really good at what they do.

Thanks. Just got a call from your Critical Care team and they have now given me a Webafrica (yes, I had to ask twice to confirm this) to test if I still have issues. Uh well, will do this tonight.

Thanks for keeping me posted, please pass on the results to the team as soon as you're able to :)

The South IPC does seem to have picked up, we're doing our best to normalise things and bring the added latency down.

Farking Hell Man, So is the latency on the MTN Network ever going to be fixed?

200ms+ local latency on Afrihost,
22ms on my IS Ignite account.

Afrihoax.....

Excuses as of late, missing a few, but this is not a pretty picture....

1) Our Critical Care team are on top of things
2) We've been optimising general network efficiency
3) Try switch over to Googles DNS in the mean time
4) We're seeing intermittent issues on our DNS cluster
5) I've sent that onto our Team to investigate
6) Could be congestion
7) Definitely wouldn't be a shaping problem
8) We are working towards a good solution to have these updates sorted out.
9) We post here as well as getting to the bottom of the issue.
10) IPC looks good from my end.
11) It could be the server where you're grabbing content from

I keep getting DC'ed from my Minecraft session then it won't reconnect for a couple of minutes even though my PPPoE connection is still connected and normal browsing is unaffected.

My account is never messed up, my theory is higher speed = more speed issues.

I think it's more to do with your location. 99% of the time my account is running great. My download speeds are almost always as fast as the line can go.

In your case, we're still struggling to get your connection on the local Exchange to be switched from what we know is a faulty router on the Exchange to one that is actually working as it should. We've gotten hold of higher-up at MTN Business, and they will help us get through to the right people at Telkom.

That's very strange!

Are you seeing this happen with any other services? Do you perhaps know which MineCraft server you are connecting to?

what is the problem with ah that windows can not update but with other isp there is no problems
are we short on !!! again

hi -- was using news.afrihost.com until yesterday and everything was fine.

Has the NNTP server changed -- what's the new details?

Youtube can barely stream a thing for me atm. Anyone else having issues?

Are you seeing reduced throughput to all downloads at the moment, or just the Windows updates?

The details should be unchanged... Do you have any other News Servers running? How are those speeds looking?

Don't have any other news servers running - nope. Am using news.afrihost.com/119 - pls verify - what should my settings be?
