Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Capacity issues, give away extra bandwidth to capped users without thinking, and now we have these issues. We pay a premium, get nothing extra and lumped with poor service. Sorry this should be brought to the advertising board!!

Afrihost, a discount for business accounts as a good will to come in line with capped giveaways?

My line is still horribly slow, anybody else have the same problems on business uncapped/"unshaped"?

Could everyone with slow internet please post a tracert to thinkbroadband.com for me. This is not to check the lines, but rather the path taken to the destination (which could indicate where the slow speeds are coming from).

What I don't understand ism how some people in CPT are having no issues while others aren't even getting a 10th of their line speed? Yet it's not line issues?

There much be a common link somewhere - even before getting to the IPC...? That's my logic towards this situation :/

Common router issue?

I logged a support call with Afrihost around my slow line, they asked me to run tests, so I downloaded their network test app and sent the results through, this is the response I received, they basically say if I want faster I must upgrade my line, if I am not happy I must call Telkom.

This is disgusting poor service!

Hi

I trust that you are well:)

Please Note that because you are on a Business DSL Package Download speed is dependent on the line speed combined with the package speed. Taking a faster package on a slow line will not increase speed. Business DSL Accounts are locked to a single phoneline. The phoneline it gets locked to is the first line used to connect. If your number changes simply contact us to clear the current number. Your speed will be as fast as your Telkom ADSL line allows for every kind of traffic (Actual speed is dependent on line speed, distance from the exchange, quality of the cabling in your area and current capacity of your Telkom exchange). Please contact Telkom to check if there is any interruptions on the line.

I hope that the above has been informative, should you require anymore clarity please feel free to contact us.

Have a great day ahead.

This above is just a cut and paste off the site!
WTF does the above have to do with the fact that the product is slow as balls at the moment????

My ticket has been open now since the 03 March... I get a new person responding to my ticket every 3 days, once I have sent a nasty email to them. Every time I get a new guy, I have to run the same tests over and over.... and I have to climb the ladder again to get up to the point where they will even consider a physical port change at the exchange. 2 weeks went by, then I got told that there are no more ports available (B****s***t), while Telkom sends me an sms saying the fault has been resolved (with no call from them at all!).

I have now logged a new fault, and will log a new one every day till I get a Telkom tech to call me from the exchange to tell me that they are swapping the port. Let's see how they like their support section flooded with calls????

So much for AH "managing" my line.... I still have to do everything myself, or risk jumping through 10 000 hoops for AH to report the fault to Telkom - WTF is the point???

So, now guess I will see, if this WA account goes south like this AH Business does because of exchange / line faults.

Hmm... @Afriman... could it be possible that the users experiencing issues are routing through the JHB IPC by mistake? That would account for the higher CPT pings than JHB pings?
