That might have stabilised your line then! Could you please do a "Test my Line" from clientzone and post the results here :)

Looks like you're on the 1.5Mbps sync profile. Drop me a PM so I can check it out.

Hmm, seems my line has been dropped down to 2048 again :/ Neither line tweakers are working either.

We do have an authntication issue at the moment. Our guys are working on this. We're seeing some intermittent authentications so if you do manage to connect, please don't reboot or turn off your router for the meantime :(

Hi Afriman

What is the cause of the intermittent authentication issues ?

Hi Afriman

What is the cause of the intermittent authentication issues ?

I don't really know all the technical details, but it does seem to be on our side between ourselves and MTN. We are investigating fully to prevent this in the future.

I think that's just about the best compliment any forum rep could ask for. Really glad you've changed your mind :)

Another one here. As per my post a while back I was also about to jump ship - until you jumped in. I do need to say Afriman's responses were always quick - promising to look into it each time. In addition, his responses to my posts were much more knowledgeable than their email support teams.

Guess what Mr Afriman - they fixed/upgraded to Vdsl it this morning :) Fantastic - I need to buy you some beers :)

Afriman, any issues with the Durban IPC this morning? Perhaps related to your authentication issues?

I'm seeing very poor speeds and latency this morning...

THanks :)

It's always a pleasure. The forums have taught me a ton about all kinds of stuff. I'm pretty sure this is where I learned how to use NNTP!

I'll never say no beers! Really, NEVER!! ;)

No issues that I know of at the moment - in fact, KZN has been pretty quiet for a long time.

I see that we did see a spike in demand and it took a little longer than usual for the shaper to bring demand into line. There might have been intermittent contention while this was happening. But we didn't really hit higher peaks than we normally do, so I'm skeptical.

How long have you been getting results like this?

Anyone else having video streaming issues?
Since yesterday, Youtube 720p vids take ages to buffer even though line speed is sitting at just above 5Mb.

Is it just YouTube or is all video streaming giving the same problems? Which DNS settings are you using?

Having issues connecting at the moment. Takes ages, and even when it does the connection dies after 5 minutes. The only reason I rebooted my router in the first place was because the connection suddenly died.

Youtube still works for me, but I have noticed that it takes longer for videos to start playing.
