Also, when you're able to - can you test YouTube with the 1GB free account?
My step-dad is moaning that his BBC iPlayer streaming is fine during the day and buffers a lot during the evening. This is without any other activity on the line. Has Afrihost changed how the uncapped business accounts function after hours? This is an 8Mbit connection on a line syncing at 10Mbps.

If the connection is performing fine during the day but slowing/ becoming unreliable it could have something to do with the exchange.
Are you able to post any latency results?
Well there is currently a latency issue with the exchange which I have submitted to TelkomZA, but with streaming it seems to be a speed issue.
Streaming is very reliant on stable latency, are you seeing high response on the exchange itself?

This is what's causing the streaming issues, your overall experience is most likely to be degraded until this is fixed.

I don't see anything particularly troublesome in the traces but the end latency in your speedtest seems high for a cape town to cape town local ping. Should be under 20ms. At around what time did you run this test?
Just a minute or two before posting it. I'll check the latency again today when I'm at my PC.

I logged a call 3weeks ago. Since then i've sent traceroutes and speed checks and pictures of my results back and forth.
I got an email from AH to say they are looking at it, but since then i haven't had feedback for a full 7 days now. {Today its a week}

A guy in another thread ditched Afrihost because they ignored his problem for over two months. It's possible Afrihost is going through a bout of terrible service. Their call centre and live text support (and MyBB presence of course) seems to work, so use that where possible.
Critical care is definitely there to provide solutions to long term issue or difficult problems. I'll check with them why the issue is on hold. It could be due to long term issues between ourselves and upstream providers, but we should in any case try to give you ongoing feedback to put your mind at rest.
I'll ask the team to give you as much info as we can provide for the moment
