Yeah... everything looks fine from a latency side. It seems we are ALL being limited/throttled. The capped accounts have the same issues, and so do the Home Uncapped - it's a country-wide, all-round, AH/MTN disaster :(
 
Someone I game with just flipped his ****, logged and cancelled his account. Fellow gamers also moved over to Web Africa (better latencies). Something weird is going on. Speed is fine, streaming is fine, but no gaming!

My International latency went from the 160's to 200's.So latency also borked.
They need an evening presence here to scan for issues.

I'm in South of JHB, my latency is fine around 20ms but can't stream at all. youtube working better than this afternoon but other streams too much lag.
 
The live chat support is offline on their website (even though they claim they have no issues) -

I'm not prepared to hold for another 20 minutes....

Hey KoolDaffy, seems I spoke to soon - posted a tracert that shows there are some latency spikes in the MTN network - maybe that's the problem or at least part of it.

Yeah, seems like there might be more than one problem, which is causing different issues. I'm having streaming issues, others are having issues with their gaming.
 
I think we should all do some tests and post them here. Seeing packet loss as well:

Uncapped ADSL in South Africa is a big ****ing joke now. It used to be awesome before the Telkom ADSL upgrade waves hit our shores in December last year.
 
So I'm testing a Roku 3 tonight and nearly tossed it out the window. Turns out our internet is busted ... Damn :-(

Latency is a rumor at this stage!!!!!
 
Hi all, I'm in Durban, I am able to stream 1080p videos of youtube, the only problem is the buffer bar will stop and then the video catches and it starts to buffer, refresh the page and it sorts itself out...not sure if this is an isolated incident or other people are having this problem...

Been totally unstable the whole day. Please remind us why we pay over 1K a month for this?
Yesterday everything was 100% (except the streaming crap which I am "used to" after sitting with it for about two months already...), today it all went to hell.
 
Things have gone pear shaped for me too over the past two nights. Can barely get 1Mb/s on my 8Mb/s account. Of course, in a few hours when I'm asleep, it will probably be fine. In the meantime, streaming anything live is an exercise in frustration.
 
I'm now pissed off. I'll add this here for those who want to play.
