So, if you are asking when we noticed the increase in latency, even though we posted it...
One can only assume that nothing has been done from 11:45am till now....
very, very disappointing....
Glad I am leaving, everyone who is having the same issue should leave as well, no point in paying for a service if you are not getting what you are promised...

if I hand my cancellation in today, will I still have internet access to the 31 October, when can I move my line from AH...

Unless I've misunderstood AH's cancellation policy, that's right. You'll be a customer until the end of next month. They'll migrate your line back to Telkom if you instruct them to do so I imagine.

Anyone know whats up with the random ping?

We're seeing some spikes of higher demand, which causes the latency to increase a bit :(

Thanks, can I move my line before month end to a different ISP instead of Telkom?

How do i find out if i have VDSL in my area? ( i see the prices has come down nicely and it's worth while going for a 20mbit or 40mbit line.... - PS. no use in waiting for Fibre to Home...It's too pricey and the waiting time is going to be till 2020 for CPT )

You can, no downtime is involved in the move.
The data will only be cancelled at the end of October - as cancellations need to be done before the 25th of every month.

I can check this for you :)
Drop me a PM with your DSL number and I'll see what speeds you can achieve.

Afriguy any update on Durban?

Latency now at 300ms+ local and an hour ago it was at 150ms... Usually I see 12 -18ms so this a big jump....

Wow, it seems that AH & MTN have finally managed to fix Twitch. Streaming on High with no buffering at all.

None yet I'm afraid, seems quite inconsistent from what I can see :(
The minute I get any word on the increase latency I'll have it posted here.

And no answer as to why some of us ARE being throttled/shaped on Business accounts which are claimed and guaranteed to never be throttled/shaped and guaranteed to have full line speed at all times?

Ignore posts all you want, you are finally seeing customers taking hard earned money elsewhere due to this.
I am next to leave AH if this is not fixed by next week Monday.
Yes, today is the cutoff date for cancellations, but I cannot go on paying for a "premium unshaped unthrottled full line speed" product anymore.

We aren't throttling/ shaping.
As mentioned in a few posts before, the increases in demand cause contention on the network - which will in turn affect some speeds.

Back to normal, just as the demand must be dropping off for the day.

Weird that it dropped off just after 5pm:whistle:
Don't think they will increase it...

PLEASE! INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE IPC!

Similar results to what I've seen you post before :(
We're doing everything we can to have this normalised. Sorry about the intermittent speed.

Please explain to me then how when I tried to download something with HTTP it did 17k and then died completely (i.e. all further traffic on the TCP connection was blocked) and when I switched to HTTPs (which prevented packet inspection) it went through normally ? Or is my business uncapped connection not a business uncapped connection ?

At the time my line was completely idle except for the attempted download.

THIS IS DISHONEST. FESS UP, TELL US THE TRUTH.

It's slower than normal because, as mentioned, demand is higher than normal.
This can slow down your connection.

Please PM me some test results so I can investigate the results to confirm.

This is all just marketing lies. Report them to the National Consumer Commission (like I did). This clearly violates your Right to Fair Value, Good Quality and Safety. At the very least we should be refunded for the time during which there was problems but Afrihost is refusing this.

Once the NCC have validated my claim I will continue to contact debt collectors to get my money back from Afrihost.

And somehow it just magically only kills HTTP connections that transfer specific content while not touching HTTPs connections ? Lulz, I'm not an idiot.
