This the second day in a row WTF, this looks like downhill slide very fast I am sorry I for one wont buy anything from afrihost until they sort their s***t out!

I know it's frustrating :(
We have some plans in the pipeline to have everything running smoothly again.

As I said, we have plans in the pipelines to get things back up to level awesome again :)

I am getting full line speed at home... and yes I am one of those evil downloaders that moved from MWEB. 128GB for this month so far on a 2meg line.

I also moved to a 4mb Afrihost Buisness account yesterday, gaming have been fine from what I tested last night, however download speeds on http, and even ftp traffic has been going up and down and mostly hovering between 100 and 200 kbps,

if I switch over to my currently pending cancellation Mweb premium uncapped its full speeds, whats up exactly? I'm in stellenbosch/cape town area

We didn't see any general issues last night. Sorry that you're seeing erratic speeds with us :(

The only thing I hate about the business accounts is that they are solidly limited to account speed. a 10Mb account doesnt even go a little over 10Mb when used on a faster syncing line :D

Maybe you get what you pay for and/or just get a better modem. ;)

That's one of the bigger differences between a Capped and Uncapped accounts. The majority of Uncapped accounts sold around the world are rate limited :(

I am on the opposite side of things: applications/activities not relying on low latency (downloads via HTTP/FTP) work like a bomb. Gaming (Guildwars 2) has intermittent performance (even on European servers at 5:30am in the morning there is at times huge lag) and since middle of September things became unreliable that I gave up on tournaments altogether. I have never had those type of lag-issues in 16 months on MWeb uncapped. I do know that a number of gamers mentioned lag as well - but they are on normal uncapped accounts.

huh? My modem works fine and syncs a lot higher than my 10Mb account. On my free 1Gb Afrihost I get 19Mb download, and a Telkom 10Mb uncapped account it goes upto 15Mb. Afrihost is just stingy :D

I cant justify changing from a 10Mb business to the 20Mb home uncapped (as it costs the same) with all the shaping that the guys are saying happens on the normal accounts. Will consider it once the shaping has lessened.

Would love a 20Mb business account, but at double the price I am currently paying there isn't enough internet to download to justify that unless I take up some seriously hardcore fetishes.
