I have recently signed up for an Afrihost 6Mbps Business Uncapped package.

However, when I log onto the Afrihost Clientzone, I notice that my package has a 5TB data allocation.

This confuses me, surely "uncapped" means there is no data allocation? Perhaps I don't understand how these things work. Please could someone enlighten me.

6Mbps at 100% usage = 768 kB/s --> 66 355 200 kB/day = 1 898.4375 GB/month (for a 30 day month).

You physically cannot hit that limit even if you used it at 100% 24/7/30.

It's probably just a setting on their shaper/capper program that essentially allows you to use it without any limits.

Hi Neville

Sorry we're only jumping on this thread now.
Pretty odd, the "allocation" for Uncapped should sit at an infinite value. Could be that some data links got confused somewhere along the line though - drop me a PM with your DSL username and I'll check this out :)

I'll agree with agentrfr though, 5TB is going to take quite some doing, and a faster line.

How much are you paying in total for that package?
