So after a few days of asking for answers and refunds, maybe at times a little excessive, Afriman has gone and canceled my accounts.

I have now just spoken to a manager and he says they cannot reverse it, and I will have to look for another provider.

So all please beware that if you give your details to Afriman he has your DSL is his hands and goes on a ego trip.

All this for wanting to use my business uncapped for my business and not wanting to pay for 10Mbps when I only get 10th of that.

Understandable,

If a client becomes more than they are worth then they have the right to fire you.

Sorry.

Having followed this incident from the start, "Despicable" is a better word, because understandable it is not.

If I was in the wrong as I said before I have apologised, and I am moving to another ISP, but hell I am not going to let this go just yet.

Well technically any provider holds the rights to cancel a business agreement based on a notice period in their contracts,it's one of those little problems(benefits) of not having a contract to do it quickly. You can cancel with very little notice - as can they
Double edged

It does not matter what your opinion of the incident is, if they don't want him there is nothing you can say or do to change that. There is no obligation that they have to keep you. I am not saying its fair, but it is what it is.

I asked their Manager where it states in the T&C that I am not allowed to voice my opinion regarding their service, and he could not answer me

They didn't follow correct procedure in this case. All that was communicated to the client was a PM stating his account was going to be cancelled.

That's not a formal notice of termination of a legal agreement...

Except a company's image and reputation is at stake when this is done in a distasteful and vindictive manner. While a client's downside is just the hassle of finding a new service provider. One edge is certainly a lot sharper than the other.

Well it doesn't have to be stated really does it? Could be a very long list if every reason for cancellation would have to be listed.

As much have you have the right to complain they have the right to terminate your agreement, regardless the reason

Really show me where it is stipulated in the T&C

Of course there is that angle, but there will also always be people complaining - some exaggerate and others do not. Long as the balance of the majority are satisfied it's sustainable

That is so funny dude, I like the way that we as consumer in South Africa get shafted on a daily basis.

This is where your freedom of speech comes in, now you can go ahead and flame away and promote everyone to leave Afrihost. So get busy if you think thats what you want?

So you are saying the can do whatever they want but when I don't pay they can take legal action?

If you dont pay and the service is still provided yes. Their terms offer credit for any disruptions longer than 24hours (from the logged call with support) so should there be an issue of measureable nondelivery they can reimburse you which would be the first step before attempting any legal recourse in any case

All I wanted was answers, not dancing around it, why is the IPC issue not on their website, do you not think it is misleading to new customers that want to sign up? I am talking about customers that do not follow this forum.

PS this comment got my account canceled.
