Afrihost Capped ADSL Feedback (MTN) - New beginning

Remember, you're in the South - so for now you're routing via the North and back again. That may be the cause for higher quality streaming.
The feedback has definitely been noted though!

Does Vox not route via the North and back again too?

I honestly have no idea, I think that's something that needs to be confirmed by them.
Either way though, YouTube high quality streaming is something that's been brought up a bit - once we have our submission process pushed out live we'll have our network guys see what's potting there.

Out of interest, what area are you in?

Ah i see.
Is anyone in the North able to test HD streaming on YouTube? JesseG is reporting the same in the similar thread. Not sure if routing via the North is the root cause of this.

It's one of the things our guys are checking.

Looks like this routes via the UK and then back again :( I'm sure content will be pulled directly from the CDN though.

The details are being sent out in batches, I'm sure you'll have yours in your inbox shortly.

Just for interests sake... will we be using our paid for data to test your POC network? Or will you be providing additional data for this during the POC period?

It's basically a copy paste of your account, it's a different realm.

Is it a bad thing if they do it in that way?

It's the quickest way from our end, it's easy to automate etc.
The finer details are confirmed in the mail, but once you use a POC account your "older" @afrihost username is locked.

Don't really see another way of doing it, apart from manually splitting out clients and assigning IPs to the POC. That's a pain though, and not very efficient.

Is there a way to get my account on the POC-based network sooner than later? I applied a week ago as soon as I found out about it.
