Meh.. dreading dealing with Telkom ADSL helpline haha

I heard via the grapevine, Quite a few okes have resigned recently at AH, This true?

Not sure how this relates to Capped feedback? Haha.
Anyway, I really don't think discussing staff matters on a public forum is appropriate.

In short, no, there haven't been mass resignations.
If you'd like to chat about this more I'm happy to do so via PM.

Meh.. dreading dealing with Telkom ADSL helpline haha

Does look like it :(
Is your line with us?

Now that's a weird one.
Drop me a PM with your line number and any other results you've run - I'll check this out from my end :)

Just a note, that we cannot control nor own the hardware on the 2nd hop. Traffic breaks out to our IPC after that.

Yah it looks like Telkom stuff is not working or congested. I dread that because they just want to send a techie out :( I prefer issues were line broken or isp side but rarely encounter that :)

Yeah I feel you dude :( Congestion issues are never cool!
When a tech is there though, he should see pretty clearly that things aren't great. Just show him the same tests you've pasted here.

Nah direct with Telkom. I tried earlier when i spoke to their help center to tell them that the issue is on the 1st external hop(2nd path hop) (which should ring bells, i know as i did ADSL support 10 yrs ago lol but shame the techie i spoke to wasnt too bright :()

Ps. I think this explains why i have intermittent issues, I think i mentioned it a few weeks back. Doesnt always bother me as I'm rare;y home during the day like today and evenings when it gives issues i just turn it off for a bit and it clears for a bit. Anyway.. will follow up with Telkom

I think you're straying a bit here. The MyBB test also uses Ookla, so I fail to see how we've optimised something to reflect false results.

Could you run some real world results? Some streaming, downloads etc.

Yes but the Path is different is it not?

I do not have the time to spend all day running tests for you guys, I am back on Telkom trying to get some work done as Afrihost is no longer a reliable business tool. All of my work is cloud based, latency is a major issue, speed not so much, but waisting time switching between acounts and performing streaming and download test cost me more than it would to swich ISP's.

You stated above that there was no capacity issue. So be it, if you wont even acknowledge the issue, you wont fix it, so I may as well stay on Telkom and cancel Afrihost.

It has been a fun 5 or 6 years but it is no longer tolerable, and treating us like fools in this forum just adds insult to injury.

I understand why you're frustrated, but please understand that I am here to help. In order for me to get the best overview of what's happening on our account I need the info there.

Anyway, I'll take a look through my inbox for your details and run tests from there.

Any idea why I'm seeing this:

That isn't looking great at all :( Does your download experience reflect this too?
I ran the test myself, on my 10Mbps line - results as follows:

http://speedof.me/show.php?img=150514181932-81842.png

It does reflect experience, unfortunately
I once carried on on another thread about why I use http://speedof.me/
Those days, whenever I did Ookla's test - it would fly, but for some reason streaming (international service) would be non-existent.
When http://speedof.me/ indicated poor speeds, streaming was poor, and vice versa.

Here is another one I just did: http://speedof.me/show.php?img=150514182206-81843.png

WebAfrica and FNB test accounts both show good performance.

Not great to hear :(
Could you PM me your DSL username please? I can see there are any issues there.

Ok, got it logged with their 2nd tier support (2nd time lucky, guy seemed more clued up).

@Afriman could the router be causing the issue? I've had it for about 2.5 yrs now. Don't see any issue on line packet errors so not sure

I honestly doubt it, although it never hurts to test :)
From what I've seen, if routers are faulty they throw in massive latency on the routers hop or simply don't work at all.
