I honestly doubt it, although it never hurts to test :)
From what I've seen, if routers are faulty they throw in massive latency on the routers hop or simply don't work at all.

Ah ok.. well it seems to fluctuate a lot but seems more stable presently.. so i started recreating my Plex Music(yah video linkage & music audio sig.. sadly i have to recreate) library so thats going to thrash as it pulls meta data and Sabnzbdplus restarted (they we all off earlier because i was trying to update my server & software when it happened)

This looks more normal..

That's looking a lot better! Hopefully it stays like that though!

Is NNTP screwed on Afrihost in the south? Was running fine until an hour ago, and now 0-1 KB/s.

Seems to be a bit slow at the moment, but we did see a latency spike on the network when demand peaked. Things are settling down, so we should see things improve.

Slow? Try dead.

When?

And why is a speedtest running at full speed and NNTP is close to dead. Throttling much?

Switched to my free 1GB Webafrica account and it runs full speed.

I am so sick and tired of Afrihost and their inconsistent performance. The only reason anyone stays with you is because it is cheap. Not quality. Not consistency.

PATHETIC.

Can't this bloody company get it right.

This is an issue with our news server specifically, our team are checking it out.
No other services should be affected.

I've tested Newsdemon, Tweaknews and XSUsenet - I get line speeds there. So nothing is shaped/ throttled from that stand point :)

Well on Afrihost I get 0-1 KB/s. On WebAfrica it's not great but over 100 KB/s. This is a 5 Mbps line.

Care to explain?

Cannot dial into my capped account, keeps throwing out a 691 at me ....... Seriously what is going on with this network

Hmmm anyone else having issues authenticating on afrihost? I can't connect after loadshedding

It looks like the loadshedding may have broken something on our side, our Team is working on getting everything back up and running.

Network notices aren't showing any issues?

I just hope they fix the South latency soon. My speed test showing i live in Bloemfontein heueheu:D.
